Just a word of caution when we are talking about RETIREMENT Fund....placing them in high yielding funds (Equity, Balanced). I cannot imagine saving all your hard earned money for your retirement...and lo and behold just as you are about to reach your retirement year of 65, the stock market crashed...reducing your precious savings to its half value or perhaps to a quarter...Then the friendly finacial advisor will tell the poor retiree to "wait and hold...invest in the long term"...at an old age of sixty five, let's just hope and pray the poor retiree will be living long enough for another 25 years...there goes the retirement.

I would therefore suggest putting your retirement in Non Variable products...Sun Life has a lot of good guaranteed, participating insurance products for a retirement fund.
